We are embarking on an exciting journey to develop a new, cloud-based Platform as a Service (PaaS) that will be utilized by TELUS and our global partners. As the Senior Technical Product Manager for the SmartHome Platform, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of this mission-critical initiative. This is an exciting time to join as we’re still in the early stages of designing and developing this cloud-native platform. We’re dedicated to providing innovative solutions that connect people and businesses, and leveraging technology to enhance the lives of our customers and drive digital transformation. This role will be reporting to the Director of Tenant Experience for SmartHome.

You have a proven ability to execute strategically and tactically and are excited to take on new, ambiguous challenges that will be industry-defining. As the Senior Technical Product Manager, you will:
- Work with global customers to understand their business requirements and translate them into platform requirements
- Influence the direction of the platform, and collaborate with Business Product Manager counterparts.
- Clearly articulate the strategy to customers, stakeholders and the platform engineering teams
- Work at both the strategic and tactical level. Collaborate with QA, DevOps and Security counterparts to drive those aspects for the platform
- Prepare platform launch plans, determine release goals, and prioritize features
- Define and own metrics to improve platform tenant experience and liaise with engineering teams to drive improvements to technical platform metrics
- Work with Business Product Manager counterparts to understand and communicate requirements from a Global Communication Service Provider (CSP) point of view and evaluate platform capabilities against it
Qualifications
What you bring:
- 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Known for your ability and agility to excel in a dynamic environment, including proactivity identifying opportunities and challenges, and anticipating and addressing roadblocks
- Full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways; able to develop, maintain and optimize end to end value chains associated with SmartHome products and services
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally on a quarterly basis
Great-to-have:
- Ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects
- Experience working directly with customers and development teams
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent experience
- Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
