TELUS Digital is looking for a software tools and licensing strategist to lead in the discovery, negotiation, acquisition, and maintenance of software tools and licenses that are critical to increasing the productivity, product quality, and the overall team member experience. 

In this role, you will be the face of TELUS Digital when engaging with vendors, leading the discussions with key internal stakeholders and leadership teams to advise on the best tools and licensing models.  You’ll be part of the Digital Strategy and Transformation Enablement Team, where we enable holistic digital acceleration and modernization across people, process, and technology.


Here’s how 

  • Lead the software tools strategy and planning discussions with Digital leadership on a regular cadence
  • Demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, innovation, and out-of-the-box thinking to drive how we use the latest software tools to deliver on our customers first strategy
  • Negotiate with vendors on optimal licensing strategy
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders outside of TELUS Digital (e.g. other users, procurement) on tools management
  • Support the budget management and accounting of tools and licenses
  • Establish user onboarding and offboarding best practices and drive change adoption
  • Develop trusted partnerships with vendors to share accountability of tools performance
  • Facilitate and support end-to-end tool procurement process, including Telus service request, Privacy Impact Assessment, Secure By Design, purchase order creation and maintenance, etc.
  • Establish cost chargeback process and/or strategy to centralize tool management after maturity.
  • Reconcile credit card tool purchase report to formalize tool purchase.



You’re the missing piece of the puzzle 

  • Experience in Technology or Strategy roles to deliver outcomes and benefits of an organization’s strategic objectives
  • Proven experience managing multiple stakeholders and interests, vendors or agency partners within schedule constraints
  • Ability to build consensus and foster, maintain, and strengthen collaborative working relationships across multi-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Experience communicating transformation initiatives to both key stakeholders and diverse internal teams
  • A strategic thinker or problem solver with the ability to see the big picture and identify opportunities to complex challenges
  • Strong dedication to quality and an eye for detail
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty.  Ability to deal with a high degree of ambiguity.  Enjoy taking the lead and creating new processes and taking charge of difficult situations

  • Experience and familiarity with a wide range of software vendors and their standard terms and conditions (e.g. Figma, Contentful, NR)
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
