The Cybersecurity Enterprise Architecture Team is the foundational pillar and natural integrator that leads overall security outcomes for TELUS. The team is an assembly of innovators who each bring unique wisdom and competency built from their storied career paths, involving a spectrum of technologies, practices, roles, and projects. Together, we engage stakeholders across the business and collaborate to identify, plan/consult/review, and prioritize change initiatives to security capabilities that will serve to protect the business of TELUS and our customers.


You will envision, establish and drive TELUS’ 3 to 5Year Security Technology Roadmap in the enterprise services domain. You are a strategic evangelist who draws on passion for capability-building to constructively break through challenges in order to chart a path forward leading to sustainable delivery of benefits to mission. You will leverage your experience to rapidly orient yourself with stakeholders and their functions/processes, communicate in both business and technical terms, and discover and prioritize gaps for maturity improvement.


It is essential for this team to strategically deploy their capabilities to meet the demands of an increasingly complex and ever-changing environment where the landscape is rapidly evolving. 


What you’ll do


Every day you will take on exciting challenges to architect, consult and coordinate the Enterprise Portfolio domain, collaborating with your stakeholders and architecture peers to manage the respective architectures, and lead the 5-year Strategic Capability Roadmap for TELUS Security.

You will engage with your stakeholders to understand their operating contexts, drivers, objectives, challenges, and planned initiatives to ensure alignment with internal and external factors when developing strategies.


What you bring


  • Security has been your long-time focus and you can’t wait to lead multiple domains across our critical infrastructure services.
  • 5+ years performing Enterprise Architecture activities in a large enterprise
  • 2+ years participating in management accounting activities, such as budgeting, product/service cost model establishment, investment initiative planning, business case development
  • Knowledge and experience with Networking + security concepts such as topology, protocols, automation, components and principles.
  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Communications Technology, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent 
  • Earned certifications with some combination of:
    • Enterprise/Business Architecture/Analysis (TOGAF, Archimate, SABSA, Business Architecture Guild CBA, IIBA CCBA/CBAP, or equivalent)
    • Security Practice Management (CISSP, CISM, CISA, ISO27000-LA, or equivalent) 
    • Security technology and operations (GIAC, CEH, CCIE, PCNSE);




  • 8+ years of experience with network technologies and principles such as Zero Trust, NGFW, VPN, ISE, IPS, IDS, AAA, DDoS, Netflow, packet analysis covering architecture, design, development, use case development, and operations planning
  • Experience assessing control frameworks into organizational processes, such as NIST Cyber Security Framework, ISO/IEC 27000-series, NIST-800 series guidance including the NIST 800-53 framework of information security controls
  • Knowledge and experience with architecting, design, migration from on premise to cloud providers such as GCP & AWS. 
  • Experience with Service Gateway architectures on container based platforms such as Kong and Kubernetes.  Application of Security controls within these platforms such as OAuth and Open Policy Agents.
  • Experience with On-Prem and Cloud based Layer 7 security controls such for Advanced WAF and Bot Mitigation.
  • Experience with Vulnerability Management tools for varied delivery models and stages in the CICD Pipeline.
  • Working knowledge in one of the programming languages such as XML, JSON, Perl, Python, Shell or TCL scripts.
