As a member of the TELUS Cyber Threat Intelligence Team, within the Chief Security Office, you will be part of a growing national team which is leading efforts to monitor and distribute awareness around emerging cyber threats to TELUS internal stakeholders and external clients.
Join the team that pushes proactivity in the field of cyber security by gathering intelligence on the newest threats and malicious trends that are out there and help isolate and assess these trends and their implications, allowing our stakeholders to better prepare to face them ahead of time.
The Cyber Threat Intelligence Team is comprised of experts in the field when it comes to staying on top of and gathering knowledge on the newest threats that organizations are faced with in the cyber space. Every day, this team pushes the pace, growing TELUS’ knowledge base on threats and helps build measures into its systems to thwart them before they even get the chance to become an issue.
As a Senior Security Consultant within this team, you will be an invaluable source knowledge for both TELUS’ internal stakeholders and its clients. Mentor junior team members on our approach to protecting both TELUS and its clients, helping create roadmaps for the team’s next avenues and helping with ideation, process creation and reviews while staying on top of new trends are just some of the exciting tasks you will be faced with in key role.
What you’ll do
- Partner with our team members to integrate Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) into the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems to help Managed Security Service (MSS) organizations quickly thwart evolving threats.
- Maintain high engagement with Managed Security Service (MSS) customers through monthly touchpoint to understand the operational context for intelligence are well-understood
- Seek and implement improvements to our security best practices, processes, reports and deliverables, and Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) tools.
- Provide technical guidance, leadership and support to Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) team members
- Coordinate threat hunting and critical vulnerability activities
- Combine internal and external threat intelligence into adversary’s Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) to provide context to threat data
- Leverage threat intelligence and analysis to provide incident response support.
- Articulate list of intelligence requirements through workshops and presentations, and engage intelligence consumers to be part of the intelligence requirement process
- Keep up-to-speed on the latest threat intelligence trends and news.
- Leverage TELUS externally to support the industry and cyber security working groups and associations
Qualifications
What you bring
- A University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a similar discipline.
- 5+ years of hands-on work experience in network and systems security.
- 5+ years of hands-on work experience in Cyber Threat Intelligence.
- You are the go-to person when it comes to evaluating latest attack techniques and appropriate countermeasures and understand latest malware, activity group and threat actor profiles
- Expert-level knowledge on cyber threats and intelligence lifecycles.
- Subject matter expert with intelligence analytic techniques in performing intelligence assessments.
- Hands-on experience in network and/or IT security.
- You are comfortable juggling multiple multifaceted projects at one given time.
- You are respected for your technical leadership and ability to mentor team members.
- You are known for your ability to provide feedback and address challenging situations.
- You are a great communicator in both written and verbal channels.
