Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

Our Digitization Strategy team is looking for experienced strategists to drive actionable strategies at the intersection of business, customer, experience, and technology. Based on the candidate's level of experience, this role could be filled as Strategy Manager or Senior Strategy Manager.

This includes strategy definition, program delivery, external partnerships, competitive intelligence and thought leadership applied throughout our enterprise-wide Digital Transformation Program. 

On the job, you will combine customer insights, industry trends, and business requirements to shape our long-term digital strategy and roadmap. This role is an exceptional opportunity to stretch yourself, continue to build new skills, and accelerate your career.

In the Digitization Strategy team, we challenge our assumptions and beliefs on a daily basis, thrive in ambiguity, adapt to constant change, and collaborate with executive stakeholders across TELUS as we connect the dots across TELUS Digital and our enterprise-wide portfolios. 



Here’s how

  • Advance digital transformation through enterprise-wide strategy definition and program execution (e.g. Forecasting performance, multi-year strategy to achieve KPI, operating model evolution) 
  • Partner with key stakeholders (including executives, project leads, vendors) to drive critical business, experience, and technology outcomes (e.g. partnering with vendors and analysts across TELUS to build a model optimizing sales and service channel mix)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to mobilize action and ownership out of ambiguous opportunities and challenges (e.g. establish governance model to coordinate multiple streams of disparate digital investments)
  • Develop, communicate, and pilot innovative opportunities, thought leadership and business cases to senior leaders across TELUS to inform decision making (e.g. building a case for developing a digital focused channel economics model)
  • Collect, report and transform data and information into actionable insights that inform strategic priorities and tactical decision-making in support of revenue, profitability, and commercial objectives (e.g. translate data and insights into a compelling story for senior leaders to improve performance)
  • Ensure proactive communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear and consistent communication on results, resourcing requirements, delays, and risks
  • Enable the continuous evolution of our Digital Products and Sales & Services portfolios (e.g. recommending and executing on sales and service strategy improvements)
  • Drive interlock between our strategic programs, capital planning processes, and scorecard management to maximize value delivery 

You're the missing piece of the puzzle

Don’t have all the pieces of the puzzle? That’s okay if you can demonstrate potential to grow in areas you don’t yet have demonstrable experience

  • 3+ years driving strategic outcomes, especially related to digital sales, service and product excellence
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, take charge of difficult situations, and simultaneously tackle multiple projects and challenges with enthusiasm
  • Highly organized and detail orented with a strong desire to roll your sleeves up and get things done (did you catch the typo?)
  • Excellent business storytelling and presentation skills, with demonstrated ability translating complex data into actionable insights
  • Project management skills - plans, organizes, motivates, and controls resources to achieve specified project goals and objectives while respecting defined constraints 
  • Strategic mindset with demonstrated experience in implementing data frameworks, and creating data visualizations
  • Identify opportunities for TELUS to leverage its data to improve decision-making, program delivery, reporting, and results dissemination and monitoring
  • Ability to develop and articulate succinct business rationale and robust business cases to support recommendations 
  • Ability to productively adapt priorities based on organizational dynamics (e.g. competing stakeholder priorities, budget constraints)
  • Ability to collaborate and influence organizational change across diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to drive executive-level priorities with minimal direction
  • ​​Demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, innovation, and out-of-the-box thinking to drive strategic initiatives and problem solving
