What you’ll do


As a Technical Sales- Cybersecurity Architect, you will make a difference with our customers by leading and being accountable for the development of strategic custom solutions.


This role is a customer-facing solution development role that will require you to interface effectively with other TELUS pre-sales and post-sales stakeholders to assess and develop unique and innovative solutions to address customer business needs, while mitigating risk and generating profitable revenue. This remote opportunity is within the Commercial and Public Sectors.


Here’s how


  • Opportunity Gating: Feasibility and Go/No-go assessment for new custom solution requests
  • Solution Development: With the support of Solution Architects, lead the development of innovative custom security solutions, including selection of vendor/technology partners, definition of functional requirements and operational support models, and development of financial cost models
  • Solution Governance: A key aspect of custom solutions involves the review of, and obtaining approvals for, solution risk, contractual terms and conditions, and special provisions regarding legal, procurement, liability, compliance and other similar considerations
  • Solution Presales Support: With the support of Sales, Solution Architects and Sales Engineers, contribute to the sales proposal, RFx responses, presentation and contracts for each custom solution



What you bring


  • 2-5 years Solution Development experience in a pre-sales environment, preferably in a managed services provider, data center, cloud and/or cyber security context. Demonstrated experience contributing to pursuit strategy, development of proposals, presentations and RFI/RFP responses, preferably for $1M+ solution scenarios
  • 2-5 years Facilitation experience, coordinating projects or outcomes across multiple organizational departments




  • Understanding of service development process and managed service lifecycle
  • Understanding of Managed Service Provider and various operational support models
  • Understanding of financial cost models and business case development


Skills & Abilities


  • Strong communicator in both French and English; able to adapt message for executives, business and technical stakeholders. Effective presentation skills in one-on-one and group settings
  • Ability to develop and assess business cases; clearly communicate risks, benefits, justifications, and gain consensus around decisions, plans and actions for both customer and TELUS stakeholders
  • Ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals, negotiate agreements and coordinate approvals on a timely basis
  • Exceptional listening, comprehension and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to translate objectives into actions, which are specific, measurable, and achievable with realistic timelines
  • High level proficiency with MS Office or Google Suite




  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity concepts, technologies and trends
  • Any certification to support any of the required Knowledge and Experience items 
  • Exposure to project management methodology
