As a member of our Systems team, the Technology Consultant is the cornerstone individual who plays a critical and important role, not only in the day to day Operational support of TELUS Health environments but he or she is also responsible for the implementations of new infrastructures utilizing leading edge Technologies, with the focus on innovation, automation and reliability in keeping in line with following industry best practices. To ensure all our Services have a Customer First Focus in mind, making the end user experience simple and easy to use. Making our future friendly.

How can you help
- Be able to perform 24x7 key remote support on a rotational basis
- Be able to manage the problem queries from start to closure
- Be able to provide day 2 operational support
- Be able to manage and maintain standards, procedures and support documentation
- Have the ability to read, understand and build from architecture documents and designs
- Have the ability to work with change management and ticketing system protocols
- Have no fear of new and trending technologies ie Cloud
- Participate in project implementation (coordinate/collaborate with infrastructure teams, develop support plans)
- Participate in team projects to enhance the technical infrastructure and/or improve quality or efficiency of problem resolution processes
- Participate and work with cross-functional and geographically diverse team members
- Follow through on resolution with clients, report issues that are not resolvable and work with team leads on possible solutions
- Follow through on plan and implement changes as required under the ITIL Framework
- Follow through on recommendations on server, backup and storage architectures
- If you can Implement server, backup, storage and SAN monitoring best practices
- If you can implement and maintain capacity management methodologies
- If you can recommend ongoing support of solutions
- If you can assist with technology BUG fixes in co-ordination with Vendors
- If you can implement and trouble shoot large, complex multi vendor environments (OS, hardware, network, storage, SAN and backups)

Qualifications
Qualifications or Missing pieces of the puzzle
- University degree in Computer Science or equivalent years of experience working in Information Systems
- 7- 10 years of experience with in depth knowledge of Red Hat Linux
- 7-10 years of experience in Tier 1 SAN storage Dell EMC
- 5-7 years of experience in VMware
- 5-7 years of experience in multiple backup technologies – NetBackup, Cohesity, VERITAS, Avamar, Data Domain
Bonus or Great to have
- Experience with Cloud computing
- Experience with networking
- Experience with scripting and/or automation languages
- Certifications in RedHat, NetBackup, EMC, VERTIAS would be asset
