Our diagnostic imaging clinic at TELUS Health serves thousands of patients annually—from routine screening to complex imaging for acute conditions. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you'll be a key part of this clinical team, delivering high-quality diagnostic ultrasound that helps physicians make critical care decisions and get patients answers quickly.
You'll perform a variety of abdominal, pelvic, and superficial soft tissue ultrasound examinations under the direction and oversight of a Radiologist, working collaboratively to ensure accurate imaging and timely patient care.
This casual role offers scheduling flexibility that works for experienced technologists seeking part-time hours or those balancing other commitments—while still being part of a cohesive, collaborative clinic team.
Here's how
- Receive and complete requisitions and enter patient data into the diagnostic imaging information system
- Gather and verify patient history and relevant clinical information prior to beginning scan
- Prepare patients for specific ultrasound procedures and answer preliminary questions about the exam
- Perform abdominal, pelvic, and superficial soft tissue ultrasound examinations in accordance with CMRITO guidelines and TELUS policies under radiologist direction
- Ensure all necessary documentation is accurately completed for each scan
- Maintain current knowledge of PACS and follow quality assurance protocols
- Collaborate with your supervising Radiologist to clarify imaging findings and support diagnostic interpretation
- Coordinate with administrative staff to manage scheduling, patient flow, and clinic operations
- Communicate with referring physicians regarding imaging results and next steps
- Maintain ultrasound equipment in proper working order and ensure a clean, organized, safe workspace
- Comply with patient safety, confidentiality, and infection control policies
- Perform small clinical assessments (vision screening, audiometry, spirometry) as needed to support clinic operations—expanding your clinical skillset
Qualifications
What you bring
- CMRITO registration in good standing
- Sonography Canada registration in good standing
- Completion of a recognized post-diploma sonography program (or equivalent credentials)
- Minimum 2 years of experience performing abdominal and pelvic ultrasound examinations
- CPR and WHMIS certification(s) (this would be an asset)
- Prior experience with PACS, Esaote and GE ultrasound equipment (this would be an asset)
- Effective decision making skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a dynamic team
- Commitment to providing high quality patient care and customer service
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and ability to work well under pressure
