An exciting opportunity awaits a senior leader passionate about building transformative AI solutions for TELUS. This individual will play a pivotal role in enabling various business units by leading the exploration, development, and scaling of cutting-edge AI technologies, as well as developing platforms and solutions to democratize AI at scale across TELUS. 

 

Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Chief AI Officer, you will lead a team of more than 100 members and develop AI squads dedicated to different business needs and oversee the operations of the AI Board at TELUS to continuously evolve AI skillsets and tooling across the organization. 

 

You will collaborate closely with the Enterprise Data Platforms teams to leverage their data platform solutions and, with the AI/Data Product Engineering teams across the business, commercialize proven AI solutions. At the heart of this role is driving innovation and delivering tangible business value through the strategic application of Artificial Intelligence.

 

What you'll do

 

  • Lead hunter teams to seek, test, and scale transformative use cases for TELUS.
  • Leverage the data platform solutions from the Enterprise Data Platforms team to achieve scale.
  • Collaborate with AI/Data Product Engineering to commercialize proven solutions.
  • Manage and develop the AI squads dedicated to the different businesses, including developers creating and integrating cutting-edge AI technology.
  • Explore and implement evolving AI technologies (e.g., agentic AI, Machine Learning advanced techniques and future disciplines in the realm of data and AI).
  • Foster a culture of growth mindset and experimentation within your teams.
  • Contribute to the focus on data and AI literacy across TELUS.

What you bring

  • Experienced in the end-to-end lifecycle of AI solution development and deployment, from ideation to scaling.
  • Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders across various business units.
  • Passionate about exploring and implementing the latest advancements in AI.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on delivering measurable business impact.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. An advanced degree in AI or Machine Learning is an asset.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in leading and developing AI or advanced analytics teams and delivering impactful solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying, testing, and scaling new technology use cases.
  • Strong understanding of various AI/ML techniques and their application in solving business problems.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Salary Range:
