TELUS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Executive to join our dynamic sales team. This role is pivotal in driving customer retention and growth by fostering strong client relationships, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, exceptional communication skills, and a strategic mindset.
As a Commercial Sector Sales Account Manager, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive solutions that address complex customer technology needs. You'll embody TELUS's social purpose in all interactions and business practices, utilizing strategic sales management techniques to optimize processes and outcomes. By growing and managing a portfolio of 40-50 assigned accounts, you will oversee the entire sales cycle, ensuring a seamless and efficient customer experience. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in commercial sales, particularly in the technology or telecommunications sector, with a deep understanding of digital transformation and its impact across various industries.
What you will do:
- Own the executive-level client relationship and strategic business planning and apply diverse strategies to inform client decisions and shape relationships
- Implement strategies to reduce churn and increase customer loyalty, such as personalized communication and tailored service solutions
- Champion PSO (Premier Sales Organization) methodologies, collaborating with clients and stakeholders to create strategic plans with clear goals. Consistently exceed PSO KPIs in Quantity, Quality, Velocity, and Balance, maintaining KPI hygiene independently
- Engage the client to fully understand their business plan to effectively create territory plans, account plans, opportunity plans, executive call plans, etc. Act as a business owner; understand the financial health of the customer’s business prior to pursuing potential sales opportunities
- Effectively communicate risks, impacts, and mitigation plans to stakeholders and senior management
- Partner with the broader account team (other sales specialists, solution development, product managers, etc.) to create value propositions aligned to specific client needs based on business vision at a strategic level with the customer to achieve specific business outcomes
- Provide thought leadership on novel approaches, supplementing gaps with industry knowledge. Respond to requests from potential leads from different sources regarding TELUS business solutions
- Provide industry thought leadership to our customers, within TELUS and in the markets in which we serve; maintain high levels of knowledge and expertise regarding our customers, their industries, trends and the value they seek from TELUS
- Prepare professional proposals targeted to the key decision makers (usually senior managers or C-Suite) that clearly communicate TELUS’ first in-class solutions and value proposition to the customers' business problem

Qualifications
What you bring:
- Professionalism: Highly sought after for deep expertise in Information & Communications Technology (ICT), client business, industry, market, and economy. Establishes and maintains relationships across TELUS, clients, partners, and industry insiders
- Solution Platforms & Offerings: Expert in TELUS solutions and their impact on customers' businesses. Uses deep knowledge of TELUS and its Social Purpose to highlight competitive advantages. Actively seeks to understand clients' business, industry, market, and economy
- Demonstrate key sales competencies such as Business Acumen, Critical Thinking, Customer Focus, Grit (Energy and Drive), and Teamwork/Collaboration
- Engaging the Customer: Authentic customer advocate skilled in managing expectations and stakeholders. Proactively addresses potential issues with mitigation strategies. Expert in articulating business rationale and return on investments
- Minimum of 3+ years' experience in a sales environment
