The Business Planning and Financial Insights team within TELUS Customer Technology Excellence (CTE) is responsible for strategic business planning and opex management (approx. $1B annual basis). As trusted partners, we help solve complex business challenges and help achieve operational and strategic goals. We provide insights and recommendations that influence key decisions made by the CTE Leadership team. Decisions that optimize resources, minimize risks, drive operational excellence, impact customer and team member experiences, and shape future business growth & transformation.

As a Business Consultant you will partner closely with Vice Presidents, their enablement teams and Finance to achieve business objectives within financial goals. Your drive for operational improvements, leadership and innovative thinking will help identify opportunities that will drive cost optimization within CTE and re-invest these Opex savings in priority programs that will transform TELUS future for our customers and team members.

 

Here’s how

 

  • Lead and coordinate CTE’s Strat Check financial planning, annual Opex budgeting processes and support monthly triage processes in partnership with Finance
  • Responsible for developing, measuring and reporting unit cost KPIs to accelerate cost optimization CTE teams
  • Lead projects, deep dive business analyses/ investigations and present insights and conclusions to Director/VPs to support financial decision making
  • Drive operational improvements by identifying cost saving opportunities by establishing models and processes to support prioritization and re-investment decisions
  • Collaborate with VPs across CTE to measure financial progress against both strategic and tactical initiatives

 

 

Qualifications

 

You’re the missing piece of the puzzle

 

  • 5 or more years of experience providing business planning and financial operational support and expertise to senior leaders
  • Track record of building and developing cross-functional relationships
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset and are able to present complex information in an easily understood manner, tailoring the communication to diverse audiences to facilitate understanding
  • Recognized for your business insight, problem solving skills, advanced analytical and financial modelling skills
  • Excellent time management, organization, and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple deliverables to oversee the portfolio in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated having high standards of performance with the ability to deal with complex concepts and ambiguity
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, and to convey insights, concepts and ideas in a clear and simple manner to senior leaders

 

Great to haves:

 

  • University degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
