The M&A Returns Excellence team under Corporate Finance is looking for an enthusiastic and talented Business Consultant to lead the Post Acquisition and Integration (PAI) executive reporting and ROI analysis and consolidation.

 

In this role, the successful candidate will collaborate with various M&A teams across a wide variety of stakeholder groups to continue our returns oriented approach to ensure we have an end-to-end view of our PAI results and scorecards, execution cadence, and ROIC outcomes. 

 

What you’ll do: 

 

  • Collaborate with Corporate Development, Finance, PAI teams and senior leadership to derive SMART KPIs from M&A business cases, including target-setting, weighting and performance thresholds
  • Oversee and evolve end-to-end reporting processes, including budget setting, triage updates, compiling monthly results and variance commentary, and delivering robust self-service scorecard reporting options
  • Collaborate quarterly with key stakeholders and leadership to rebalance and socialize BU- and Corporate-level scorecard weighting
  • Prepare and deliver best-in-industry business performance reviews, including monthly index reporting and commentary, ELT quarterly updates, and mid-integration and post-integration ROI analysis (Gate 4s)
  • Support ad hoc reporting needs for M&A leadership, including forecasting and historical trending
  • Develop cross-functional relationships with business units, corporate development, finance, and PAI teams to help to foster a spirit of transparency, accountability and the sharing of best practices
  • Help drive the evolution of post-acquisition and divestiture strategy through reporting, business insights, process standardization and lessons learned

 

 

What you bring:

 

  • Confident, concise, flexible and data-backed storytelling skills, appropriate for a wide range of audiences, from subject matter experts to the CEO
  • Strong organizational, collaborative and analytic skills, with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement
  • Strong understanding of interlock between business cases and ROI outcomes, including growth drivers, risks, and measurability
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and Looker, including queries, complex formulas, and Google Apps Script
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience in corporate finance, accounting and bookkeeping principles and practices, including forecasting, budgeting and target setting
  • Proven ability to manage concurrent projects and priorities under tight timelines
  • Keen eye for data integrity, accuracy, and root cause analysis
  • A passion for aesthetics and building impactful presentations slides
  • Minimum 5 years equivalent experience

 

 

Great to have:

 

  • Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) database design and query language
  • Proficiency with AI functionality, especially Gemini and Fuel iX
  • Experience in process improvement and documentation
  • University degree, professional accreditation or certification; MBA / CPA is an asset 
Salary Range:  $87,000-$131,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
