Take your wireless product knowledge and sales/business acumen to the next level with this key role in the highly collaborative BC Private Sector sales organization.  Accountable to manage and grow TELUS Wireless offerings. Engage with prospective and current customers to identify opportunities and execute sales pursuits; articulates technology benefits into solving business needs.

 
Here’s how

 

  • As the Wireless SME, work individually or closely with account primes with effective need creation techniques to identify, build and drive opportunities, and manage funnel to meet growth and revenue commitments
  • Partner with the broader account team (other sales specialists, solution development, product managers, operations managers, service managers, etc.) to create value propositions aligned to specific client needs based on business vision at a strategic level with the customer to achieve specific business outcomes
  • Consult with the customer to understand the business problem and facilitate the solution development process; identify other specialized disciplines in order to add value or differentiation: (for example: Network wireless, security, IP telephony, UC, call centre)
  • Develop valued business relationships with key vendors and industry influencers and leverage the partner ecosystem in opportunities to drive the end to end customer solutions
  • Provide Industry thought leadership to our customers, within TELUS and in the markets in which we serve; maintain high levels of knowledge and expertise regarding our customers, their industries and trends
  • Identify target accounts that are high potential for offering and proactively engage sales leadership on client strategy

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ICT technology and industry trends in business, competition, market and economy; creating relationships across businesses and management & externally with key partners and vendors; challenges Status Quo internally and externally - ability to understand current state to transform or modernize the customer’s technical environment; thirst for technical knowledge
  • Solution Platforms and Offerings: Portfolio and key business offerings expert that enable a customer's business transformation; confidently communicate value proposition and act as an industry leader in Mobility
  • Strategy and Planning: Partner with Account primes to use embedded territory, account and call planning tools in Salesforce.com to create targeted plans with clearly defined smart goals and specific milestones; ensures appropriate balance of prospecting, qualification and closing activity including adherence to PSO sales methodology (for example: red team review, win probability models)
  • Purposeful Execution: Effectively negotiates contract commitments internally and externally using influence and persuasion techniques to increase portfolio yield, achieve better margins and more trusted customer relationships
  • Engaging the Customer: Genuine and authentic customer advocate, who takes accountability and manages customer expectations; communicates with customer using business case principles (time, money and human capital ROI); ability to lead workshops with customers as they explore gaps in their business and translate customer needs into TELUS offering opportunity; identify requirements, business needs and value; ability to whiteboard, quantify value (business & financial acumen)

 

Required Experience:

 

  • 7-10 years of experience in a similar role
  • Solid understanding of new wireless technologies and solutions, such as 5G and IoT
  • Technology sales experience, evidence of selling business value with a competitive win-back focus
  • Proven record of solution selling and influencing decisions by aligning solution to business needs at the executive and Senior technical level

 

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

 

  • University Degree
