As a Controller supporting the TELUS Health Care Centers portfolio (“THCC”), you'll play a crucial role in providing financial leadership and insights to the THCC Leadership Team. Your expertise will drive financial excellence, ensuring that these teams have the financial support they need to make informed decisions, achieve their objectives and contribute to overall TELUS Health’s success.
What you’ll do

Lead financial operations and reporting for the THCC portfolio, providing accurate and timely financial information

Review and analyze monthly and quarterly reporting, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement

Spearhead budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with your team of analysts, and business leaders to align financial plans with strategic objectives

Provide strategic financial analysis and support to business unit leaders and key stakeholders, helping them navigate complex financial decisions

Collaborate on cross-functional projects, including business case reviews and testing assumptions and financial data

Lead a team of high-performing Financial Analysts through coaching and mentorship to foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence in financial and data management

Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards (IFRS), and regulatory requirements

Develop and implement robust financial controls and procedures tailored to the specific needs of each business unit
Qualifications
What you bring
-
Professional accounting designation (CPA) with 7+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting

Strong business and financial acumen, including experience using financial modelling to create sound business cases with experience in SAP
-
Demonstrated success as a leader, building and supporting highly engaged teams that epitomize fair process, entrepreneurial spirit, and measured risk-taking

Exceptional collaboration and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively across all levels of the organization

Problem-solving skills: ability to examine challenges, build recommendations, and execute solutions

Clear, concise, and influential communication skills, including compelling storytelling and presentation to executive audiences

Strategic and creative thinking, with the ability to drive multiple deliverables and timelines

Decisive approach grounded in data analysis and interpretation

Proven track record of implementing process improvements and financial best practices
Great-to-haves
-
Working knowledge of AI (Adaptive Insights), GSuite, MS Office and AX

Experience with change management and driving adoption of new financial processes or systems
-
Experience leveraging AI tools and automation to streamline financial processes and enhance analytical capabilities
