We are an advanced data and AI team thriving on solving business problems and supporting procurement decisions using the power of data, advanced analytics, and reliable software. We provide end to end support from strategy and development to deployment and monitoring of all assets, including machine learning model, Tableau dashboards and data engineering ETLs using cutting edge Cloud technologies (e.g., Google BigQuery and GCP AI Platform), open source tools (e.g., Python, Sklearn, NLTK, Tensorflow), and enterprise products (e.g., Tableau, GitHub, Terraform).


In achieving our goal to enable data-driven decision making in CPO, PACE team is looking for an experienced data scientist who is able to regularly engage and interact with our business stakeholders to identify opportunities and develop complete solutions to turn data into insight for decision making.


What you’ll do:


As an experienced Data Scientist in PACE’s Insight Generation group, you will be at the front end, systematically analyzing and transforming vast amounts of tabular and unstructured data into actionable insights that are impactful in several ways to enable the organization to achieve their goals. We expect you to go above and beyond your role in working with like-minded, entrepreneurial colleagues to strengthen our data driven decision-making culture, improve the customer experience leading to revenue growth, cost reduction, and improved efficiency. You will be responsible to:


  • Work closely with business stakeholders to learn about data issues and insight gaps and take action to fill the gap
  • Work with the ‘Insight Generation ’ group within PACE and develop strategy for reporting, storytelling, and insight generation
  • Proactively looking at opportunities to blend data from across different enterprise systems to generate actionable insights that drive business value
  • Leverage innovative technologies and rigorous methods to extract, analyze, evaluate and interpret complex, multi-dimensional and constantly changing data
  • Question the status-quo and old processes, challenge assumptions, and advocate for AI and data-driven decision making across the chief procurement office
  • Influence PACE strategy and priorities while collaborating with other PACE team members to enable, design, develop, and deploy both data and visualization solutions
  • Mentor and coach other peers at PACE and upskill stakeholders to adopt and utilize reports, dashboards, and insights to inform day-to-day decision making
  • Provide technical coaching and mentoring to team members to ensure appropriate accessing, managing and interpretation of data




Who you are:


  • Hold PhD or master with major in data science, computer science, or applied mathematics (or related quantitative disciplines)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Tableau
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with SQL
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Python for data science
  • Minimum 5 years of experience using data extraction and processing technologies to build advanced predictive models.
  • Prior experience with Agile and Jira
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate data insight to business to various seniority levels of stakeholders
  • Team player




  • Knowledge and experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Google BigQuery and AI Notebook
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP S4 HANA, SAP ECC is a big asset
  • Familiar with software development methodologies and best practices
  • Experience in Natural Language Processing in Python
  • Experience in ML model production deployment and monitoring
