Join our team within TELUS Health Care Centers (THCC) business unit, where we support the day-to-day technology operations for health clinics across Canada. As part of our data management team, you will contribute to maintaining and improving our healthcare data infrastructure, ensuring reliable performance of our clinic systems while enhancing our analytics capabilities.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Technology team as a Developer responsible for supporting medical results data systems for patients and employers across THCC. We are a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative team focused on leveraging data technologies to transform healthcare delivery in our clinics nationwide.

 

As a Data Developer within TELUS Health Care Centers, you will independently implement and maintain our Azure environment while applying your experience in healthcare technology. You will collaborate closely with senior team members and mentor junior team members to ensure our systems operate smoothly and efficiently.

 

What you'll do

 

  • Lead the maintenance and monitoring of our Azure environment
  • Develop and maintain robust data pipelines handling healthcare information across multiple systems and databases
  • Assist in the implementation of data integrations between various healthcare systems and data sources
  • Drive data governance practices and establish best practices for handling medical data
  • Develop and implement advanced analytics solutions to improve healthcare delivery and operational efficiency
  • Perform database maintenance and advanced SQL optimization tasks
  • Manage cloud environment and infrastructure maintenance using Azure
  • Lead software releases and deployment processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud-related issues
  • Contribute significantly to new feature development and system integrations
  • Apply and advocate for healthcare data standards and compliance requirements

 

 

Qualifications

 

What you bring:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in software development or data management
  • Proficiency in:
    • Advanced SQL for database querying and optimization
    • Python for complex data processing and automation
    • Terraform for infrastructure as code
    • Extensive experience with Azure cloud platform services and management
  • Proven experience working with and managing complex cloud environments, specifically Azure
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Expertise with version control systems like Git/GitHub
  • Solid knowledge of CI/CD processes and deployment practices
  • In-depth understanding of healthcare data privacy and security principles
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Strong desire to mentor and share knowledge of healthcare data standards and industry best practices
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools is required
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts is essential

 

Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.

Salary Range:  $82,000-$122,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  12%
