The Independent Channel West team is responsible for optimizing sales performance, enhancing customer experience, and strengthening partnerships across Western Canada. Our team and what we'll accomplish together
You’ll lead a high-impact team driving sales growth and profitability across independent dealers and national retail accounts in Western Canada. This role is critical to TELUS's consumer and SMB growth strategy. You’ll own channel performance, customer retention, and sales quality while building an engaged, developed, and empowered team. Your leadership will set the standard for channel excellence and drive a high sales performance culture across the organization.
What you'll do
- Drive channel sales performance: You'll get to lead sales growth for Dealer West and National Retail accounts, focusing on product intensity strategies, upsell initiatives, and attach rate optimization
- Ensure customer base retention: You'll accelerate growth of HSIA, WHI, Optik TV, and SHS/SH+ attachments, and drive strategic renewal programs and multi-product attachment to retain and expand our customer base
- Optimize sales order quality: You'll enhance profitability and yield through superior sales order quality and intensify PSO practices to boost Active Sellers, Productivity, and Velocity metrics
- Enhance retail coverage: You'll get to optimize both physical and virtual retail coverage through dealer consolidation initiatives, Book of Business strategies, and advancing virtual retail capabilities
- Oversee channel governance: You'll manage partnerships, launch, and scale new dealer initiatives to enhance capability and performance
- Prioritize team growth: You'll build an engaged, developed, and empowered team, focusing on their growth and wellbeing
Qualifications
What you bring
- You are a seasoned professional with progressive experience in channel management, sales leadership, strategy, marketing, or related fields, and a proven track record of driving revenue and profitability
- You have the ability to develop and execute multi-year channel strategies, with strong financial acumen and P&L management skills to optimize profitability, yield, and sales order quality
- You possess deep telecommunications industry knowledge, understanding wireless, wireline, and bundled service offerings, and have demonstrated experience in channel management, including supply chain optimization, compensation structure design, and sales performance management
- You excel at building and maintaining strategic partnerships with independent dealers and national retail accounts, and have excellent cross-functional collaboration skills to influence teams across marketing, product, pricing, and strategy functions
- You hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical/business discipline

- Industry knowledge: Robust telecommunications industry knowledge and a deep understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscape
- Sales culture: Proven track record of driving strong sales behaviors and cultures that deliver consistent customer growth and measurable sales results
- Optimization experience: Experience with dealer consolidation initiatives or channel optimization programs, and familiarity with PSO practices and methodologies
- Tech-savvy: Knowledge of virtual retail or field sales technology platforms and digital transformation in sales channels
