Our team

At TELUS, we’re looking for bright people who like solving big problems. As part of the People & Culture (P&C) team, you tackle all kinds of challenges. We are not your standard HR team. We embrace discomfort and have fun doing it. We’re just as passionate about our team as we are about our customers and share an unyielding dedication to ensuring success for all.

What we'll accomplish together

As the Director of P&C Business Partner to the P&C organization, you wear several hats; trusted advisor, organizational consultant, designer, project manager, coach and leader to a small diverse team of direct and indirect reports. Reporting to the VP, P&C and actively engaging with the CHRO, you'll be an integral part of the P&C leadership team, with a mission to shape TELUS’ P&C People Plan to ensure an efficient, best-in-class P&C organization and team member experience.

Every day you engage in strategic business conversations, influence leaders, and equip them to lead their teams courageously, fostering an environment of high engagement and inspiration. You'll collaborate with P&C leaders to navigate organizational shifts, nurture team growth, and shape a culture that prioritizes positive team member experiences while delivering exceptional business results.

You are a resilient, pragmatic, collaborative and humble leader with a great sense of humor. Your counsel blends logic, analysis and strategy in equal measure. Driven by natural curiosity, you value failure and vulnerability as essential components of learning and growth. Your passion for making a difference, combined with your unique approach, will play a crucial role in the success of our internal clients in creating better outcomes for our customers.

What we believe

  • We are ONE team, collaborating across all teams within P&C
  • Everything we do is tied to the business, not dictated by rules or policies
  • We challenge the status quo, and when others think we’re done, we make it even better
  • We live up to our commitments, to ourselves, family, friends, peers, leaders and our customers
  • Our success is all about how we do things, how we think, solve problems, deliver, communicate, and more

What you'll do

  • Link business and talent strategies, empowering leaders to drive people initiatives in their areas that align with the broader P&C strategy
  • Influence key partners across Centres of Excellence to deliver outstanding results for the P&C organization across talent acquisition, learning, communications and change management
  • Provide expertise in organizational capability and strategic workforce planning
  • Design and implement organizational initiatives and leadership development programs
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to P&C leaders, challenging the status quo when necessary
  • Develop creative solutions for strategic issues and organizational challenges
  • Partner with business leaders and internal groups to effectively manage change

What you bring

  • 10+ years of HR experience in a senior Business Partner role
  • Experience in large, complex organizations across different industries
  • Experience working with C-level executives
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (HR Management focus) or related field
  • Innovative problem-solving skills with strong implementation follow-through
  • Exceptional communication and influencing abilities
  • Strategic thinking with data-driven decision-making
  • Inspiring leadership focused on team development and engagement
  • Proactive mindset with strong business acumen
  • Collaborative approach with a history of delivering results
  • Agility and adaptability in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  • Objectivity informed by diverse perspectives and data

Great to have

  • Bilingualism in English and French, written and spoken
