What you’ll do


The Director of Finance will report to the Vice President and Controller, Enablers and support a team of finance professionals.  Their stakeholder portfolio will be the Customer Technology Excellence (CTE), Chief Information Office (CIO) and Strategy and Enablement teams (SE&I).  The Director will be responsible to:


  • Coach, develop and guide a team of finance professionals 
  • Lead and manage the monthly results, triage Strat Check and Budget process
  • Share insights and recommendations to nurture effective decision making
  • Provide financial consultation on enterprise-wide strategic programs
  • Collaborate, liaise and interlock with various groups on financial related matters
  • Help TELUS gain competitive advantage and maximize value creation by delivering innovative solutions and operational excellence.
  • Support the development of strategic options to improve business efficiency, grow the business and enhance profitability.

What you bring


  • Strong coaching habits, including patience and being an active listener and asking questions to understand the root of the issue
  • Proven success managing multiple priorities and deliverables to meet deadlines and goals in fast-paced, ever-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices including forecasting, budgeting, governance and financial modeling skills
  • Strong communication, presentation and executive storytelling skills which convey insights, concepts and ideas in a clear and simple manner which influences senior leaders (VP and above)
  • Collaborative partner who cultivates positive relationships up, down and across the organization
  • Growth mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and iterative learning
  • Over seven years experience and professional accreditation or certification: CA, CMA, CGA, CPA or equivalent experience
