Description


We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst I to join our TELUS Local Content team. As a co-op student, you will work under the leadership of our Senior Financial Analyst and collaborate closely with various Local Content team members.. Your primary responsibility will be to drive improvements through the automation of key reporting and financial tools. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial analysis and contribute to the success of our organization through key responsibilities including: 


Basic Level Contribution/Preparation of Reports: 

 

  • Prepare reports and presentations limited to direct manager and Local Content team
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial reports and presentations Routine, Recurring, Low-Risk Activities:
    • Perform routine control procedures around basic financial reporting objectives
    • Execute low-risk account reconciliations
    • Prepare basic variance analysis using established techniques
    • Highlight any issues to senior members for resolution

 

Perform Basic Financial Reporting Objectives: 

 

  • Gather baseline data to support the implementation of improvements
  • Participate in process improvement (PI) implementations
  • Assisting the FP&A senior analyst with driving the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and rolling forecast process Ad hoc duties and projects, as required

 

Routine Data Mining, Automation design and Reporting: 

 

  • Conduct routine data mining and direct data and KPI reporting
  • Support strategic analysis and opportunity evaluation through data analysis
  • Analysis existing forms and design functionality to automate forms

 

This role will be for 8 months remote starting in May 2025.

 

 

Qualifications

 

A minimum of 1 co-op experience in a similar role with exposure to budget forecasting, would be considered an asset Appropriate tertiary qualifications in finance / accounting. Working towards Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to multi-task and manage deadlines Diplomatic, with the ability to problem solve, build relationships, and commit to learning Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently Strong analytical skills Excellent communication skills 

Salary Range:  $20-$25/hour
