What you'll do
As the Manager of the API Platform team, you will be accountable for the team’s mandate to drive the software development for our core network infrastructure and services.
Fostering a Product-centric API Marketplace mindset, you will lead your team to deliver these key initiatives:
- A unified API gateway platform: bring together the existing API gateway teams and products to create a unified API platform for TELUS
- Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps: Automation of deployments and network redundancy to ensure a resilient network.

- Product Management: Build products using abstraction techniques such as APIs, widgets, accelerators & Software Development Kits (SDK). Lead teams who use Agile program delivery practices and DevOps code release practices.
- Product definition, user and persona definition, customer intent/jobs to be done, etc.
- Setting a product roadmap and product KPI's.
- Measuring the KPIs and analytics to determine product fit and adoption
- Backlog grooming and prioritization
- Technical Skills
- Working in collaborative agile development teams, experience working with CI/CD pipelines
- Known for your experience working on cloud computing platforms including GCP or AWS
- Passionate about API design
- Recognized for your network systems and process automation experience using programming/scripting languages and experience with DevOps tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, GitLAB and Splunk

- Budget Management & Prioritization: Ability to effectively manage and operate team budgets and prioritize work effectively and efficiently across the team
- Strategic Thinking & Change Management: Ability to connect the dots between the team and broader organizational context and manage change effectively within the team
Great-to-haves
- Experience working in a software development manager role with demonstrated leadership performance, career progression, and understanding of software development
- Understanding of TELUS’ development practices and key improvement opportunities, challenges, and benefits
- Understanding of cloud computing
- Experience with performance measurement of people and developing measurement mechanisms
- Experience using a range of Agile project/task management software and tools and experience leveraging them to support digital acceleration
