As the Manager, Communications you will lead a team of communications specialists and content developers focused on the delivery of best-in-class internal communications and learning materials supporting our technician team. You will partner with a diverse set of stakeholders across TELUS Consumer Solutions to understand the communication and learning needs and educate on best practices, acting as the primary channel of communication to CSD’s frontline team members (both internal and partner).

 

This role will report to the Director - Training where you’ll be part of a talented team looking to make a significant difference across the organization!

 

Here’s how

 

  • The Manager-Communications will:
    • Oversee the development and implementation of effective communications and learning strategies to deliver the right messages at the right time to our audience
    • Establish and monitor metrics and SLA’s to ensure timely communications with a high level of engagement by our audiences
    • Work in collaboration with key stakeholders across TELUS to support the success of CSD priorities and strategic programs through authentic, inspiring, innovative and effective communications 
    • Develop and maintain knowledge of communications best practices within the communications team
    • Provide teams, including program leads, with program support that leverages both traditional and innovative mediums
    • Work closely with other CLS teams to ensure consistency with all messages delivered to CSD team members
    • Maintain a strong resource strategy to ensure communications and learning priorities and needs are met

 

 

Qualifications

 

What YOU Bring: 

 

  • Relationship management with highly effective interpersonal and organizational skills 
  • Persuasive communications skills, advanced writing and editing skills, project management experience and a track record of managing flawless communications programs
  • Proven ability to transform complex information into clear and compelling communications including the ability to adapt writing styles for different audiences and vehicles
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Take initiative and proactively supports team goals
  • Demonstrated abilities in developing and implementing both proactive and reactive communications programs
  • Flexibility – willingness to adapt and tailor communications strategies and tactics to evolving business needs 
  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline is required or extensive related business experience in a senior communications role
  • Additional post-secondary education, an Accredited Public Relations or an Accredited Business Communicator designation are considered assets
  • Minimum of seven years’ experience working in corporate communications / internal communications within an entrepreneurial, corporate environment or as a senior consultant in a public relations agency
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high performance teams through an open, honest and approachable style
  • Proven success in the strategic use of communications to positively impact corporate culture 
  • Experience with the WebEx platform, Campaign Enterprise (or email editing tool), Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
