Under the direction of the Clinic Operations Leader, the Medical Photographer will perform medical photography while maintaining patient safety practices. You will also liaise with other clinic staff, physicians and administrators to ensure effective delivery of our services

The Medical Photographer will work closely with colleagues, patients, students, and partners to provide service in a timely and efficient manner while adhering to our TELUS Health Care Centre standards, and professional practice standards.
The Medical Photographer will be responsible for operating specialized dermatoscopic imaging equipment designed to capture high-resolution images of moles and other skin lesions. By mapping, and documenting these skin features, the photographer plays a vital role in supporting the early detection and prevention of skin abnormalities, including melanoma and other types of skin cancer. This position requires a meticulous approach to imaging and data management, ensuring that all captured information is accurate and complete for clinical evaluation.
In addition to technical expertise, the photographer will work closely with dermatologists to provide essential data that informs diagnostic decisions and treatment planning. They will also interact directly with patients, guiding them through the mole mapping process, addressing concerns, and ensuring their comfort and confidence throughout the procedure. This role is integral to maintaining high standards of patient care, operational efficiency, and collaboration within the healthcare team, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes and early intervention opportunities.
What you'll do
- Perform medical photography procedures
- Provide procedural explanations, positioning, and photography setup
- Disinfect equipment and environment
- Follow up with other healthcare professionals and administrative staff to ensure excellent customer service
- Maintain photography equipment
- Ensure proper lighting and image quality standards
- Manage digital image storage and patient privacy protocols
- Other duties as assigned by leader

Education
- Post-secondary diploma
- Minimum 2 years of practical work experience in a medical clinic or lab
- Basic knowledge of desktop computer systems and Microsoft Office
- Exceptional organizational and customer service skills
- CPR Certification an asset
Additional Qualifications
- Experience in clinical or forensic photography preferred
- Medical terminology course or familiarity preferred
- Certificate in Melanography preferred
