As a P&C Business Partner Consultant supporting our TELUS Health Care Centers, you wear several hats: trusted advisor, consultant, project manager and change agent. Toggling between the big picture and then rolling up your sleeves to do the tactical work is second nature to you. You sit alongside and collaborate with the business leaders to provide thought leadership for People & Culture activities. You are resilient, pragmatic, humble, and possess a great sense of humour. Your counsel is equal parts logic, analysis and strategy. You have a natural curiosity and appreciate that failure and vulnerability are healthy ways to learn and grow. Your passion to make a difference and how you do things will contribute to the success of our internal clients in creating better outcomes for our customers.

 

What you’ll do
 

  • Leads by example as an ambassador of our culture; drives change by partnering with business leaders and other internal groups to proactively manage changes impacting team members
  • Provides proactive day-to-day coaching to leaders to help improve team member performance and experience
  • Provides guidance and support across a variety of topics including: performance improvement, conflict resolution, compensation, engagement, integration of acquired businesses, development, recognition and communication
  • Orchestrate high-impact annual People & Culture programs including performance management, compensation planning, engagement initiatives, and succession planning
  • Champion best practices and drive consistent adoption of advanced P&C programs across the organization
  • Fosters ONE team culture by liaising with Centres of Expertise to help drive the evolution of business unit programs and solutions
  • Participates in large scale ad-hoc people projects such as integration of acquired businesses
  • Transform HR analytics into powerful business insights, leveraging compensation data, talent movement patterns, and performance metrics
  • Provide leaders with compelling, data-driven recommendations that drive measurable business results

Qualifications


What you bring

 

  • Minimum 3+ years in a leadership or People & Culture role within a large, complex matrix organization
  • Demonstrated experience managing front-line team members, preferably in clinical, hospitality, or retail environments
  • Proven track record influencing and coaching Director-level leaders through challenging situations
  • Hands-on experience leading business units through comprehensive annual People & Culture programs, including:
  • Goal setting and performance management
  • Annual performance reviews
  • Compensation planning and administration
  • Employee engagement initiatives
  • Self-directed professional with ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity
  • Strong conceptual thinking with proven ability to translate strategy into an action plan
  • Sound judgment and demonstrated business acumen
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience creating compelling presentations and comfort with public speaking
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides) with adaptability to internal systems
  • Current knowledge of provincial employment law, HR theory, and best practices
  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field

Salary Range:  $76,000-$114,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  12%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
