The Real Estate team manages the strategic real estate requirements for a national portfolio of significant buildings found across the country. This team has boundless energy, creativity, internal customer focus and business smarts.

Reporting to the Director of Real Estate Development, the Real Estate Development Manager will be responsible for coordinating key aspects of the development process having a primary focus on multi-year redevelopments throughout BC and AB.

The Real Estate Development Manager has the ultimate responsibility for representing the company and guiding the development project from conception through completion, ensuring that each development represents the company’s interests and meets or exceeds the financial goals of the project. 

As a vital team member and partner to the Corporate Real Estate team, you will provide critical and high level development coordination and management of the joint venture partners.
 

Qualifications

 

You’re the missing piece of the puzzle  

  • 10-15 years of experience in development of significant real estate projects with preference for experience in mixed-use, multi-family and retail projects;
  • Must understand principles of real estate development, design, finance, and construction;
  • Sound understanding of the Canadian real estate and development industry is required for this role; 
  • Excellent negotiation and organizational skills; 
  • Experience in working with experienced joint-venture partners and understanding the importance of balance company and partner objectives;
  • Must possess the ability to influence and create alignment across multiple functional areas and partnerships with sometimes conflicting needs; 
  • Must be able to work independently with limited direction and have flexibility to react quickly in a dynamic business environment; 
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis on finance, engineering, design, planning, or law. Graduate degree preferred;

Great-to-have

  • Real Estate, law, planning, architecture or engineering certifications or licenses are helpful, but not required.
