The Corporate Citizenship & Communications (CC&C) team is responsible for telling our corporate story, amplifying our brand and elevating social purpose across TELUS. We engage the hearts, hands and voices of TELUS to advance our business, support our customers and strengthen the communities where we live, work and serve.

 

As a key member of the Strategy and Finance Office (SFO), you will partner across the Corporate Citizenship & Communications (CC&C) team to support end-to-end financial planning and budget management. You will drive overall success by delivering best-in-class budget planning, rigorous governance, and high-impact reporting that links our investment to our social purpose.

  • Partnering with various internal teams and external partners, you will use your strong business and financial acumen to lead and coordinate budget planning and management, as well as support detailed results reporting, including community contributions and impact where we live, work and serve
  • Applying your extensive experience and knowledge you will help to drive process improvements and reporting enhancements, critical to support the execution of our overall strategy and help our team make better business investment decisions
  • Your inquisitive nature, creativity and passion will drive change and deliver better business outcomes

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Drive Financial Governance: Lead annual planning, month-end reconciliations, and monthly triage to ensure fiscal responsibility across the portfolio. Leverage your analytical skills to support variance analysis, and identify trends, opportunities and challenges
  • Consult & Collaborate: Partner with budget owners to navigate challenges and co-create innovative solutions for resource optimization
  • Process Transformation: Identify "the better way"—identifying, owning and executing process improvement projects from concept to completion
  • Master the Data: Own the delivery of community impact reporting, converting raw data into actionable insights. Maintain and improve the quality of our data through relentless attention to detail
  • Procurement Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert providing expertise and guidance with procurement related processes

In addition, the successful candidate would possess the following:

 

  • Respected for your ability to analyze and translate large volumes of data and information into clear findings and recommendations
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel, as well as strong proficiency across the Google Suite
  • Adaptable and proactive, with a proven ability to prioritize high-impact work under pressure and with changing priorities
  • Advanced writing and presentation preparation and delivery skills
  • Valued for your 3+ years of business analysis experience in financial management, performance reporting or data analysis
  • Possess a Business degree/diploma or accounting certification

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Procurement and expense processing knowledge and experience, including working knowledge of SAP and Fieldglass
  • Experience in roles that require interaction with multiple internal and external stakeholders

 

While this position is posted as a Senior Business Analyst position, candidates whose experience and qualifications align more closely with a Business Analyst II role are strongly encouraged to apply as we have flexibility to consider candidates at this level. Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.

Salary Range:  $70,000-$130,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  12%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
