As the Senior Cloud Database Architect, you’ll be managing our Collaborative Health Record CloudSQL resources to optimize our database performance, integrity, security, monitoring, maintenance and support of Collaborative Health’s Postgres database systems.
You are leading the planning, design, and review of systems and applications which require data access.
Most importantly you'll be contributing to our mission to improve healthcare delivery and innovation across the country by working with the latest technologies in a fast-paced environment to improve integrated digital health ecosystems.
What you'll do
- Developing a migration path to upgrade PostgreSQL to the latest version
- Provide monitoring and troubleshooting support of enterprise databases, including performance enhancement and root cause analysis
- Develop backup and recovery strategies and processes
- Support RDBMS design and/or appropriate configuration changes, new installations for medium to large sized projects
- Maintain a strong level of understanding of relevant application functionality and impacts to the database.
- Administering other aspects of the DB infrastructure (security, scaling, etc.)
- Developing and practicing disaster recovery plans
- Large replications, documentation
- Develop standards relating to RDBMS technology, architecture and processes (security, performance, backup and recovery, etc.)
- Test and Implement RDBMS patches and upgrades
- Support database functions, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) services
- Lead space management initiatives and database migration projects
- Leverage your expertise to guide our database improvement strategy
- Collaborate with business users and other technology teams to support any database requests, applying database patches, providing first level support for troubleshooting database issues, and supporting the deployment of database changes
What you bring
- 8-10 years of operational experience with RDBM systems (such asPostgreS, MySQL, SQL Server, Redis)
- 4+ years of experience with a cloud provider such as GCP or AWS
- University degree in a related field or the equivalent experience demonstrated by progressive responsibilities
- Demonstrated capabilities working with PostgreSQL Server, CloudSQL and other database technologies
- Relevant database certification(s) and experience with large and complex enterprise systems and cloud-based database technologies are an asset
Nice-to-haves
- Avid user of Slack emojis and gifs
- An insatiable appetite for modern and emerging technologies and tools
- Experience working with Datadog and Sentry
- Experience with containers, Kubernetes, and Helm
