Our Compensation team is passionate about integrating thought leadership, innovation, and expertise into the design and delivery of TELUS’ total rewards programs. We strive to create an exceptional team member experience which differentiates TELUS from our competitors.

Here’s what we believe:

  • We are ONE team – there’s no room for egos or blame
  • Everything we do is tied to the business
  • We challenge the status quo – and when others think we’re done, we make it better
  • We live up to our commitments – to ourselves, our friends, family, peers, leaders and our customers
  • Our success is all about HOW we do things – how we think, solve problems, deliver, communicate, and more

What you bring:

The Compensation Analyst is responsible for providing analytical support (both quantitative and qualitative) to TELUS consultants and managers. This role is a critical part of the team as it has primary responsibility for data modeling and benchmarking analysis under direct supervision.

You have an educational background and/or experience in compensation, total rewards, and human resources, and use your knowledge to reinforce the design, education, and facilitation of compensation programs that supports the constantly changing needs of our business landscape.

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together!

We believe that a sound data-driven approach is the best way to make appropriate compensation decisions. You will work as a trusted P&C partner to provide direct support to the team advising on compensation policies and programs.

With guidance from senior team members, you will help solve a diverse set of business challenges using rigorous analytics and market best practices. P&C decision-makers and TELUS’ senior leadership depend on the Compensation team to provide guidance on internal and external market trends, and we help empower leaders to effectively attract, retain, and engage team members in alignment with TELUS’ talent strategy.

Here's How

  • Under direction from Compensation team members, use Excel modeling to benchmark compensation and financial data
  • Create exhibits to compare TELUS compensation data to market
  • Research financial performance, talent management trends, and pay practices / policies within the broader marketplace, using TELUS’ internal resources, third-party survey publications, competitor reports, and publicly available information
  • Assist in preparing written and visual content in draft presentations for review by senior team members; collaborate to refine and finalize said materials
  • Commensurate with experience, serve as a day-to-day contact to various HR Business Partners for data management requests

Qualifications

You’re the missing piece of the puzzle...

  • Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and at least two years of experience in a compensation role (or P&C role with heavy emphasis on compensation)
  • Data expertise: genuine passion for working with complex datasets and converting them into valuable insights that drive business decisions across TELUS; strong Excel modeling skills (e.g., complex logic statements, lookups, etc.) and great attention to detail
  • Problem-solving mindset: ability to decipher moderately complex datasets and deliver value-added recommendations that are grounded in insight over instinct
  • Collaboration and communication skills: being a team member that others actively seek out to partner with, who is clear, concise, and influential in all mediums of communication
  • Comfort with working in dynamic environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace

Salary Range:  $70,000-$104,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  12%
