Be part of a high-performing financial analysis team that delivers critical M&A financial due diligence findings and complex financial analysis to senior management and key stakeholders. 

 

Our team supports financial due diligence of target companies, valuations, key strategic and financial analysis for significant and enterprise-wide corporate initiatives, and goodwill impairment testing.

 

Your analysis and communication of due diligence findings to key stakeholders will help the business make informed decisions that align with TELUS corporate objectives, and enhance the accuracy of closing and post-acquisition financial reporting requirements.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Work independently and collaboratively with the Strategic Financial Analysis group
  • Collaborate with external consultants and the financial teams of target companies along with TELUS Corporate planning, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Accounting, and multiple business unit partners
  • Execute financial due diligence procedures, including preparing quality of earnings analysis, identifying drivers of key financial trends, and evaluating balance sheet items such as debt and equity arrangements for classification as net cash/debt or net working capital
  • Summarise key findings in reports outlining financial strengths, risks, red flags, and risk mitigation strategies with implications for negotiating share or asset purchase agreements (including purchase price adjustment mechanisms) and on items requiring commercial or financial integration action
  • Review financial statements, accounting policies, and key contractual commitments
  • Analyse financial/operational results of targets through analysis of operational accounting records and conducting interviews with management
  • Advise on addressing due diligence findings for purchase price adjustments and/or deal structuring
  • Provide financial modelling and analysis support within the strategic financial analysis team

 

 

What you bring

 

  • CPA designation
  • 5 - 6 years of accounting and/or finance experience in a corporate and/or consultingenvironment
  • 2-3 years direct financial due diligence experience
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong professional report writing and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach to working on extended virtual teams and communicating effectively with all levels including senior management and executives
  • An independent and critical thinker with the ability to identify critical areas, issues andchallenges
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet strict deadline

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Financial modelling and analysis experience
  • Big 4 Accounting firm experience
  • CBV designation

Salary Range:  $104,000-$156,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
