This role will be part of the mobility finance team of TELUS Business Solutions (TBS) organization, which provides financial leadership for internal customers mainly from the marketing and sales team and act as a trusted partner to help them achieve challenging business growth. We revise, analyze, and report monthly financial information to corporate accounting and to our internal customers. We are deeply involved in the financial forecasting activities (budget, triage, and Strat check) ensuring marketing plans and other strategic initiatives are properly reflected.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be a trusted financial advisor and business partner, helping TBS leaders and their teams to achieve business objectives within financial goals. You will be part of a dynamic, collaborative finance team, and work alongside the planning/marketing team to drive business decision making. In that capacity, you will support a rapidly growing portfolio with evolving business needs and improve profitability by helping the leaders identify COAR optimization opportunities. You will also be involved in special projects related to the products and customers in the mid-market and enterprise market.
Here’s How:
- Deliver financial operational excellence supporting the MM & ENT wireless financials for Equipment Margin (EM)
- Actively provide decision support to our internal customer, marketing and sales, by understanding their business, the challenges, and opportunities
- Prime month-end close activities including analysis and recording of transactions into the MM & ENT EM
- Prepare monthly financial performance reports and variance analysis-deep dives when required
- Assist in leading and coordinating the forecasting, strategic planning and annual budgeting process
- Examine internal work processes, recommend and implement process improvement ideas
- Finance prime for new marketing initiatives requiring impact assessments, finance requirements, user acceptance testing, training other team members and implementation
- Ownership of select balance sheet account reconciliations at month end and/or quarter-end
- Support ad-hoc financial and operational analysis from senior management
- Coach and mentor CPA students rotating through the team
Qualifications

- Known as a self-starter who is willing to “roll up your sleeves”, step outside your sandbox when required, and operate nimbly to drive execution/to meet deliverables
- Able to apply innovative and creative ideas and solutions to complex issues, along with a strong sense of ownership and bias for action
- An ability to manage multiple deliverables to meet deadlines and goals in a dynamic, ever-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment
- Proven track record with the creation and assessment of complex financial reports
- Acknowledged for strong business acumen and analytical problem-solving skills
Great-to-Haves
- 5-7 years in a financial FP&A-type role with proven succession and increasing responsibilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Admin (BBA) or Commerce
- CPA designation
- Telecom or technology industry background considered an asset
- SQL/data visualization experience considered an asset
