As a Sr. Analyst, you will be a key player in developing and delivering business performance information and financial results in support of our growth strategy. Success will be achieved by working closely with product managers, financial controllers and the TPS leadership team to deliver in depth analysis of cost and service revenue trends supporting our business performance. You must use your analytical skill set and tools to dive deep into financial performance and the business drivers influencing those results. You must also have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to portray your findings so they can be used in presenting material which will result in evolving business decisions. You are expected to understand or learn to use SAP, SalesForce, as well as TELUS’ various billing systems and reporting databases. Additionally, you will be required to comprehend the operational drivers of the financials to ensure we influence the financial outcome Partner Solutions is contributing to TELUS.
 
Here's how

The successful candidate will take initiative to understand the business, be a strong analytical contributor and apply their project management skills to investigate and explain business performance.

  • Produce and communicate the financial results monthly to meet the timelines associated with performance measurement cycles.
  • Develop next level explanations with trend analysis of various revenue and cost reporting for the Voice Operations and Product Management team.
  • Lead the analysis and reporting of quarterly, yearly financial and performance metrics including variance explanations which get to the reasons for the results; with the goal of enhancing business understanding and decision-making.
  • You will lead business/operations stakeholders to understand Network initiatives and evaluate impacts to financial planning and reporting.
  • Initiate and project manage the initial steps of sales enhancing or cost reduction projects to meet financial goals based on the findings of your analysis.
  • Support the development of strategic business plans with the GPM leadership.

 

 

Qualifications

You're the missing piece of the puzzle 

 

  • In depth knowledge of the telecommunications industry, specifically: 
  • Voice transit and termination rates domestically and internationally including the networking technologies in use 
  • Legacy data service products, markets, pricing, and technology trends
  • Regulatory requirements which influence rates and the markets they support 
  • Knowledge of business analysis methodologies, financial reporting and business KPI statistics
  • Proficiency with monthly accounting policies and processes
  • An understanding of TELUS’ product services set 

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan, coordinate and bring to closure a significant number of initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to meet important month-end reporting/variance explanation and triage processes 
  • Ability to interact with all levels of TELUS Team members to enable you to obtain support for, and contributions to pre-sales and post sales customer issue resolution
