Our Connected Home Hardware team researches, ideates, designs, develops, and manages consumer technologies to make our customers' interaction with TELUS services faster, seamless and more reliable. Whether finding new ways to connect consumer devices, advancing product form factors or improving machine-to-human interactions, our team is focused on improving our customers' lives by making technology simpler and friendlier to use.


We work closely with our engineers, marketing teams, industrial designers and manufacturing partners to guide products from conception through to launch and retirement. We support products like Optik TV, PikTV, Boost Wi-Fi, SmartHome and more. The Connected Home Hardware Team works closely with our engineers, marketing teams, industrial designers and manufacturing partners to guide products from conception through to launch and retirement.


What you’ll do:


You’ll oversee the processes, standards and products that optimize the installation of all TELUS consumer hardware. As well as evaluating and developing new and existing product offerings such as electronic component enclosures, electrical connectors and power connectors. Additionally, you will assess various in-home installation scenarios, taking into account thermal designs, power consumption and on premise physical footprints.


Specifically you’ll:


  • Work in partnership with product managers, industrial designers and engineers to
    • Develop a product portfolio of equipment installation cabinets and accessories for customer premise equipment (CPE)
    • Develop guidelines for CPE power consumption and efficiency and guidelines for CPE thermal output
  • Identify, prioritize and manage key product and technical changes and associated risks
  • Ensure all technical considerations and risks are accounted for in product strategy
  • Identify why and where our CPE and associated installation processes are efficient and drive further improvements


What you bring:


  • Recognized for your expertise in technology product management and product design with consumer technology products
  • A background in working with one or more of the technologies of internet, TV or smart home
  • Known for your passion around working across groups, partnering with technical and business teams, research, and building business strategy
  • With an exceptional ability to bring people together to problem solve, identify challenges and guide the management decision-making processes




  • Experience with success in the full product life cycle, providing product vision/roadmaps, PRDs, and bringing to market complex products on time
  • Deep understanding of user story creation, UX design as well as technical and consumer requirements gathering 
  • Ability to set and drive “big picture” strategy, while also providing detailed guidance on individual projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering (engineering preferred; MBA preferred)
