The Workforce Management (WFM) team provides a suite of applications used by 4,000 Field Technicians across Canada to schedule, receive and update their various appointments. These technicians represent the face of TELUS to our customers every day, and provide critical and strategic value in ensuring the success of TELUS and its customers.

We are looking for a L4 Software Developer to help lead our team’s transition to the Salesforce Field Service platform and unlock the transformational benefits of moving to the cloud. Including, leveraging the latest technologies, platforms and analytics tools to drive the simplification of our Workforce Management processes to better enable our stakeholders across the TELUS team. 


What you’ll do


  • Configure, customize, and develop object-oriented software for the Field Service (SFS) platform, including Salesforce Apex
  • Work with other technical team members, business analysts, and leaders to implement new business capabilities, infrastructure and troubleshoot issues within our Salesforce instances
  • Partner with architects, developers, and vendors, to understand business needs and translate them into capability and platform roadmaps, and work toward realizing the roadmaps
  • Coordinate technical dependencies with other teams as well as participate and lead technical activities for complex projects in a cross functional environment
  • Interpret system requirements, define technical tasks, and implement new system capabilities and solutions within Salesforce Field Service (SFS) and other TELUS systems
  • Gather and share requirements for the design of Salesforce-based solutions
  • Make recommendations to improve product quality, reliability, performance, and scaleability; conduct periodic software improvement cycles
  • Ability to multitask, manage time, and ability to handle urgent interruptions with poise and professionalism
  • Act as a subject matter expert / go to for systems strategy questions
  • Propose solution designs and work with Technology Architects to validate and refine proposal
  • Work with various TELUS teams to assess current Salesforce architecture and recommend changes to improve reporting and analysis practices
  • Work to identify reasonable migration paths from the current state to target architectures; communicate and obtain stakeholder buy-in to execute on architectural direction
  • Guide and review architecture solutions, roadmaps, integration services, frameworks, standards, and models developed and maintained by others
  • Take an active role in increasing team member engagement, knowledge, and adoption rates
  • Action basic cases to drive quick-win improvements





What you bring


  • Very strong spoken and written communications skills, with direct experience writing documentation for and presenting to executive level stakeholders and distilling complex concepts into simple messages
  • Strong meeting facilitation, negotiation, and coordination skills with technical team members including Technology Architects, Technical Project Managers, Developers, Business Stakeholders enterprise environment
  • Highly self-motivated with an interest in problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organization, logic and analytical skills
  • Business knowledge of one or more business domains (Workforce Management, Order Entry, Fulfillment, Assurance, Billing, Finance, Planning and Engineering, Logistics)
  • Experience designing Salesforce solutions based on customer input and known technological solutions
  • Experience using web-service and working in a SaaS/Cloud environment (i.e. Google Cloud Platform - GCP)
  • Experience developing, automating and web-services; integration experience on and with Salesforce Field Service (Field Service Lightning)
  • Experience Jira is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of typical architecture deliverables and activities, including creation of roadmaps, position papers, strategic proposals, standards, and models
  • Strong Experience using latest Cloud technologies including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Java, Microservices,  including: Cloud SQL, BigTable, Bigquery, Dataflow, Cloud Build, Kubernates, PUBSUB, Cloud Build, Function & Terraform




  • Salesforce Certifications are desired, certified SFDC Administrator strongly preferred
  • University degree in Computer Science or Information or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and practical experience in a relevant field will be considered.
  • Comfortable and familiar with databases (Oracle, SQL, etc…)
  • Experience with ClickSchedule software
