TELUS Health has an incredible opportunity for an experienced Software Development Manager to join our Collaborative Health Product Team.
 
As a Software Development Manager, you will play a key role in improving healthcare delivery and innovation across the country. You will lead a team focused on building applications that enable physicians to connect to various provincial and regional systems and support related clinical workflows. This role will allow you to work with a variety of technologies in a fast-paced environment to build integrated digital health ecosystems.
 
What you'll do

 

  • Lead the development of high-quality integrations to digital source systems, ensuring the security and quality of the clinical data
  • Lead by example as a hands-on member of the Engineering team
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders around systems integration and clinical workflows
  • Provide motivational leadership to your team of talented Developers and QA engineers.
  • Serve as an advocate for career advancement of your team members - know where they want to go and take the appropriate steps to set them up for success
  • Define and lead the creation and governance of meaningful dashboards, audits, performance monitoring and alerts for product infrastructure and data flow
     

What you bring

 

  • Graduation from a post-secondary institution with a Degree specializing in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related development field
  • 5+ years or more of demonstrated ability to lead and develop high performing agile development teams
  • Senior level experience designing, developing and delivering complex technical software solutions (architecture, design patterns, reliability, quality and scaling) 
  • 5+ years of experience working in a backend engineering role with a track record of building highly scalable and robust systems 
  • 2+ years of building effective and engaging user interfaces using web technologies.
  • Deep passion for superb user experience and technical integrity
  • Ability to establish strong rapport and communication with exceptional clarity
  • An ability to drive progress in ambiguous problem areas independently.
  • A passion for leaving things better than you found them.
  • Experience leading a remote/distributed team
  • Proven experience managing cloud platforms (AWS and GCP) in production environments
  • Skilled with Ruby on Rails, Vue.js
  • Solid PostgreSQL knowledge
