The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team is responsible for supporting the TELUS Health Care Centres to achieve operational and financial goals. As a Senior Financial Analyst within this team, you’ll be solving complex business challenges to minimize risks and maximize financial outcomes. Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together
You will be responsible for partnering with a diverse group of stakeholders, including clinicians, sales, and product development to provide all aspects of finance support including revenue, expense and headcount reporting, forecasting, budgeting and ad hoc analyses. This position will work closely with TELUS Finance team members to drive efficiencies and synergies. You will become a trusted partner across the TELUS Health organization and provide recommendations to achieve operational goals and objectives.
What you’ll do
- Support profitability growth through constant reviews of operational efficiencies, resource planning, and cost forecasting
- Complete tasks that support month end closing including the compiling of monthly financial results and analysis
- Facilitate budget and forecast process through information gathering, presentation decks and reconciliation of data
- Drive operational excellence through automation, especially AI tools
- Prepare ad hoc reports, business cases and other analyses for internal stakeholders
- Recognize, recommend, plan and implement complex process improvement opportunities, including selling the idea to stakeholders and leading and or participating in cross functional teams for execution
- Evaluate the impact of changes to business plans leveraging a strong understanding of clinical operations, strategy, and key financial indicators to provide informed, insightful recommendations
- Develop effective business relationships with peers, as well as senior & executive leaders
Qualifications
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics concentrations
- Professional accounting designation (e.g.CPA and/or CFA) or close to completion
- Minimum 3 + years of relevant experience ideally supporting a medium to large business group and senior leaders
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to prioritize, deal with multiple projects at the same time, strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Function with a high level of ownership, accountability, independence and urgency when warranted in handling sensitive deadlines
Great-to-haves
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (SAP, Workday)
- Proficiency with Excel and Google Workspace/G Sheets
- Experience in health care
