As a senior security consultant, you are a professional who thrives on analyzing system/application/network security vulnerabilities. You will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the field of information and network security, designing security into technical systems and networks. You will be a respected peer to application owners, IT architects, network engineers, and software developers deeply understanding the fundamentals of their work and goals. This opportunity will allow you to make a difference in protecting the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of TELUS services, information, and other assets. 

 

What you’ll do 

 

 

  • Perform security threat and risk analysis, network/system/application-level security reviews and when necessary hands on testing on a wide variety of TELUS services and product offerings
  • Help ensure that our systems and network infrastructure solutions are designed and implemented to the highest security standards, inclusive of your recommendations of security controls
  • Work closely with other peers at TELUS to enhance our network, system, and application security posture
  • Understand how to apply standards and best practice to solving advanced information and network security problems
  • Conduct security reviews, evaluations, and risk assessments
  • Partner with Business and Technology leaders to implement and maintain security policy, standards and procedures.
  • Educate and coach peer groups of architects/engineers on how to better design security into their various projects.
  • Provide comprehensive reports of key metrics on TELUS Security programs’ status
  • Present relevant security findings and recommendations to stakeholders

What you bring

 

 

  • 5 years' experience of enterprise security, healthcare security or telecommunication security
  • Bachelor’s degree (or diploma) and/or professional designation specializing in computer science and information security 
  • In-depth knowledge and expertise in information/network security technology, audit and control measures, monitoring/investigation methodologies and privacy legislations
  • In-depth knowledge of major security standards, guidance and frameworks including NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27000, CIS, OWASP, PCI etc.
  • Experience in vulnerability management and analyzing vulnerability findings from tools such as: Rapid7 InsightVM, Rapid 7 Insight AppSec, Burp Suite Pro/Enterprise, Veracode, Prisma Cloud, etc


Great-to-haves 

 

 

  • Preferred professional designations such as CISSP, CCSP, GSEC,  other certifications from recognized security institutes (SANS, ISC2, ISACA, etc.), as well as industry-recognized Cloud certifications (for GCP and/or AWS) are also beneficial
  • Experience of system administration, infrastructure build, and software development in a security- focused environment
