Fleet Strategy & Operations is a dynamic cross functional team responsible for the safe, cost effective, and sustainable support of TELUS' fleet of over 4,000 vehicles. We regularly challenge the status quo and push organizational boundaries to improve how we serve our internal customers with innovative projects including advanced analytics, process automation, and sustainability initiatives. We’re on a mission to transform how our organization transports people and equipment, doing our part to reduce TELUS’ greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030.

 

Reporting to the Manager, Fleet Strategy & Operations, the Senior Strategy Manager will own the development of the strategic roadmap for the team, as well as playing a key role in driving transformational initiatives including routing/dispatch optimization, implementing vehicle alternatives, and fleet decarbonization.

 

This is a full-time permanent position. Remote work is available anywhere in Canada.

You will provide dynamic and timely insights for our key stakeholders, identifying risks and opportunities within the business and driving TELUS profitability. You'll roll up your sleeves and lead projects from start to finish, taking full ownership over the opportunities you identify.

 

This exciting role involves partnership across multiple business units, including Finance, Marketing, Safety, Labour Relations, Procurement, Legal, and numerous field teams. You will be responsible for the evolution of our fleet transformation roadmap, combining internal customer insights, industry trends, and business requirements to shape our long-term strategy.

 

Here's how

 

  • Manage the priorities and risks of multi-faceted, large-scale projects that span across major TELUS frontline and internal facing business units. You will have accountability for overall project success and deliverables including business casing, budgeting, work planning, requirements definition, policy and procedure definition, process engineering, customer and frontline change management, and operational readiness
  • Assess strategic options for new potential solutions for internal customers, including recommending the best path forward
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and assess forward-looking business cases
  • Work closely with senior leaders and subject matter experts within our stakeholder teams to support their efforts in developing new process and capabilities
  • Incorporate best in class change management in all of our programs and processes as we implement new and different ways of doing things; empathize and incorporate stakeholder feedback while still driving momentum

 

What you bring

 

  • You have exceptional business and analytical proficiency, which you apply to opportunity evaluation, business case assessment, and business outcome modeling. You logically extend this to the establishment of outcome measurement methodologies
  • Relentlessly focused on our internal customers, anticipating their needs, thinking about how to create value for them through our products and services
  • You are respected for your ability to work with leaders at all levels of the organization and can tailor your message to your audience
  • You can pivot between supporting the urgent needs of the business and the long-term roadmap design
  • Known for your ability and agility to excel in dynamic and ambiguous environments, including proactivity identifying opportunities and challenges, and anticipating and addressing 
  • A persuasive and influential trusted-advisor, who listens, learns, is curious, sees nuances, applies facts and data, and can articulate a compelling story in a clear and simple manner
  • Comfortable with autonomy and able to manage multiple stakeholders and projects
  • 5+ years of working experience supporting transformational change through strategy, process, technology and change management
  • University degree in Business, Administration, or other quantitative discipline
