Our Connected Home Hardware team researches, ideates, designs, develops, and manages consumer technologies to make our customers' interaction with TELUS services faster, seamless and more reliable. Whether finding new ways to connect consumer devices, advancing product form factors or improving machine-to-human interactions, our team is focused on improving our customers' lives by making technology simpler and friendlier to use.
We work closely with our engineers, marketing teams, industrial designers, OEMs and ODMs to guide products from conception through to launch and retirement. From products like Optik TV, Boost Wi-Fi and more, the Hardware Product Management team works closely with our engineers to guide products from conception to launch and retirement.
What you’ll do:
As part of the Product Management team, you will manage the first party device ecosystem roadmap for our Smart Home services. You will work closely with go-to-market teams and platform development teams to build and oversee a catalogue of devices that TELUS customers can use with Smart Home services.
Specifically you’ll:
- Define overall strategy for new and existing consumer smart home products based on medium and long-term objectives
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Procurement and other product managers to develop and maintain a list of third party smart home devices that work with the TELUS Smart Home ecosystem
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to assess the feasibility and marketability of various smart home devices
- Create detailed requirements definitions intended for engineering, design purposes and manufacturing
- Work with product managers to develop business case justification for product introductions
- Review contracts with partners and legal teams
What you bring:
- Significant years of relevant work experience in building business partnerships in the consumer electronics industry
- Experience in B2B, managing different phases of vendor and/or partner relationships
- Strong or expert understanding of the consumer electronics industry
- Known for your ability to bring projects through to completion
- Exceptional storyteller with the ability to simplify messages to any audience and present complex business cases to senior leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
Great-to-haves
- Experience working with contracts and legal teams
- Knowledge in one or more of the industries of mobile, internet, home networking or TV services
- Master of Business Administration degree
