Join our team

TELUS Business Solutions (TBS) is a marketing environment like no other at TELUS! The TBS Wireline Strategy and Planning team leads the management of the TBS Wireline P&L, as well as senior leadership presentations and analytical deep dives. We are a high-performing team that values diversity of thought and experience to stay connected with our customers. We are also small and nimble, which allows us to work across many functions and realize unparalleled professional growth.

The TBS Wireline Planning team is a passionate and collaborative group. Working in our team will give you the opportunity to learn about all aspects of our business – not just Marketing. We value our team’s engagement and connect through collaborative workstyles, local and national team events, and by giving back to our communities through volunteer activities. We are a team that strives for top-notch customer and business outcomes but also balances that with team member engagement and flexibility.

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together:

As a Strategy Manager, you’ll take an “internal consultant” approach to think through the strategic competitor and customer-facing challenges at the core of our business objectives. Through collaborating with key stakeholders across various teams and business units, you will actively manage the TBS Wireline KPIs around our product portfolio. Collaborating with Marketing, Finance, and Strategy teams around the organization, you'll connect the dots between our day-to-day activities and the broader TELUS strategy to identify and solve important business challenges that are critical to our success.

Here's how

  • Own, manage, and improve our Wireline RGU budgeting, forecasting, and triage strategy to drive P&L revenue and margin growth
  • Serve as the key point of contact for Wireline RGUs by collaborating with senior leadership, Finance, and working teams to provide stewardship and drive strong business outcomes
  • Assist in setting targets and monitoring the performance of core key performance indicators (KPIs) including gross loading, deactivations, and average revenue/margin per line (ARPL/ARPM)
  • Regularly review our results to identify financial business challenges and support solving those challenges
  • Develop relationships not just within the TBS Wireline marketing team, but also across the rest of the organization to ensure there is a solid understanding of and alignment to our strategic priorities
  • Contribute to senior leadership presentations, including strategy checks, board advances, and monthly financial reviews

Qualifications

You're the missing piece of the puzzle

  • Data Lover: You love digging into data. You’ll analyze it, pivot it, and seek out new trends - all in pursuit of getting the best possible insights. You are an Excel and Google Sheets whiz and are comfortable developing monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets from scratch
  • Team Player: Building collaborative relationships with cross functional teams comes naturally to you, and you can collaborate with others to pinpoint a data discrepancy or compromise on a budget target
  • Visionary: You see the bigger picture of the problem you’re trying to solve, and will proactively seek out new data points to complement your analysis.
  • Organizer: You’re not fazed by needing to condense complex information from multiple sources or stakeholders, pull it together and report to the leadership team in a timely manner

Great-to-haves

  • SQL, Python or other similar programming experience
  • Google Suite
  • In-depth understanding of the TELUS business, particularly Wireline
