Currently this role is 40% in the office (Vancouver) and 60% at home, with additional time spent on client sites as needed.

The Technology Specialist is a member of the technical team at TELUS Fully Managed, responsible for providing technical support and implementation services for clients, which may happen outside of regular business hours. 


What you’ll do:

 

  • In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our project implementation operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient implementation. On a typical week, you will:
  • Implementing new technologies for our clients according to agreed project scope
  • Managing communication, scheduling and expectation-setting with clients for projects assigned to you 
  • Reviewing current IT systems and planning project implementation tasks according to agreed project scope
  • Reviewing client workflows and integrations ahead of implementation, and assessing what types of changes need to occur before project implementation
  • Identifying and troubleshooting problems with implementation and efficiency
  • Developing and applying policies to ensure new IT systems meet user and organizational requirements
  • Promptly escalating any issues or client concerns to the Manager, Information Services
  • Interacting with various teams to coordinate project activities, particularly when there are multiple projects ongoing for the same client
  • Reviewing existing IT systems and performing preventative maintenance tasks

 

The Technology Specialist  is expected to provide these services with a high level of technical competency and independence, demonstrating experience and ability in multiple disciplines within IT. A successful candidate will have a basic understanding of project management practices. 

 

 

Qualifications

 

Required Skills


The successful candidate for this position will have 1+ years of related experience troubleshooting server environments and providing end user support, a degree or diploma related to IT, and will be skilled in the following areas:   


Technical - Required

 

  • Windows Server administration, including Microsoft Remote Desktop services and Microsoft Active Directory 
  • Microsoft Entra ID
  • Network appliances such as routers, switches, and firewalls 
  • Windows 11 administration
  • End user technical Support: Provide patient, user-friendly assistance to end users with varying levels of technical aptitude

 

In addition, you will bring:

 

  • Attention to detail: both when following complex SOPs and when documenting your work
  • Adaptability: Adjust schedule and priorities in a fast-paced work environment based on client needs
  • Integrity & Professionalism: Provide outstanding customer service with a positive attitude, in person and on the phone
  • Time management: Work calmly under pressure, set priorities, and complete tasks efficiently
  • Independence and teamwork: Ability to work independently with minimal management supervision as well as cooperate within a team environment
  • Professional presence:  Maintain a polished, competent, and professional demeanor in all interactions.
  • Organization & Self-Motivation: Stay highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in completing tasks, with knowledge of the triple constraints of project management

 

Great to haves:

 

  • Office 365 and Microsoft Azure administration
  • HP ProLiant Server hardware 
  • Virtualization technologies, such as Hyper-V
  • SonicWall firewalls 
  • Knowledge of project management practices 
  • Labtech, or other RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) system 
  • ConnectWise, or other PSA (Professional Services Automation) system

Salary Range:  $67,000-$101,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  12%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits such as:
