As a high-performing Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) within our team, you will be the key finance partner for the CC&C business unit, and work collaboratively with our SFA and Financial Analyst to support the P&C business unit.  Leveraging your expert knowledge in financial analysis and forecasting, you will provide dynamic and timely insights for our key stakeholders, identifying risks and opportunities within the business and driving TELUS profitability.   At the core of your talents is your innate ability to communicate; you transform your in-depth financial analysis into a clear format that stakeholders understand!

Here's how


Each day you will bring your A-game to the field of Finance:
•   Work cohesively with our team to produce financial and key performance indicator (KPI) reporting with variances explanations on a monthly basis
•   Partner with P&C and CC&C primes and key stakeholders to ensure policy and control adherence, sufficiently mitigating financial & reporting risks to TELUS
•    Analyze past results, identify trends and make recommendations for improvements to our forecasts and processes with automation where appropriate
•   Prime the preparation of monthly rolling forecast (“Triage”) which includes operating expenses and headcount/full-time employee (FTE) forecasts for P&C and CC&C
•   Prime the preparation of Annual Budget & Strat Check (long-term model) including operating expenses and headcount/FTE forecasts for P&C and CC&C
•   Analyze past results, identify trends and make recommendations for improvements to our forecasts and processes and improve accuracy
•   Develop a strong understanding of business processes and operations to create and present organizational information and financial reports to P&C and CC&C members and senior leadership including TELUS Vice Presidents & Directors
•   Identify, develop and implement process improvements related to OpEx management
•   Develop effective business relationships with peers, the senior finance team and serve as the OpEx prime to the business unit teams
•   Provide insightful analysis and decision support for ad hoc request from P&C and CC&C business partners
•   Maintain SAP, Hyperion hierarchies

•   Able to work well in a cross-functional team environment maintaining inter-departmental respect, sensitivity to all perspectives and information
•   Track record of building and developing relationships, with strong ability to influence others at all levels in the organization by employing negotiation skills
•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and professionally with senior management
•   Excellent organizational skills with the ability to scope out difficult tasks & projects, set objectives and goals, develop schedules, prioritize multiple activities, and anticipate roadblocks
•   Able to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and goals in fast-paced, ever-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment
•   High standards of performance and a strong desire to learn
•   A proven ability to highlight inefficiencies and make improvements to processes




•    Minimum 5-7 years of relevant analytical experience
•    Experience with month-end close work, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations and controls monitoring & remediation
•    Completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) required with post qualification experience preferred
•    Business Finance or Accounting related degree
•    Exceptional in-depth Microsoft (MS) Excel skills
•    Advanced knowledge of MS PowerPoint
•    Experience with SAP and Hyperion
